PEȘTERA BORTA BOIERULUI
Borta Boierului is was a stone quarry since the times immemorial. In the XIth Century, the stones extracted from this quarry were carted to the nearby Dniester in huge carts driven by gigantic oxen, then loaded onto the barges and floated down Dniester to the Black Sea and on to Constantinopol. The great Theodosian Walls were built from the Stone from Borta Boerului.
